Throughout these tutorials we will be using an extended framework called the JXtended Libraries.  JXtended is a company of Joomla developers that directly supports the Joomla Project with code technologies that they produce.  One of these technologies is called the JXtended Libraries.  This is a System Plugin for Joomla 1.5.  It is used here because much of the extended framework is being incorporated into Joomla 1.6.  Therefore, by using the JXtended Libraries, you will be able to make a smoother transition to Joomla 1.6 as your needs to support both versions arise.
